We will post any information we can find that may be useful to you in helping
you track down your problem by yourself.
Pop-Ups are commonly caused by Spyware. Spyware is considered internet
advertising. If you are getting a lot of pop-ups even when you are not
connected to the internet you may be infested with spyware. Certain categories
of spyware are destructive they are called malware (malicious software) these
products can keep your system from connecting to the internet.
Spyware is used to keep track of where you go on the internet. Think of it as a
peeping tom, program(s) like this continue to use memory and can cause your
system to slow down considerably. Removal of spyware should be preformed on a
regular basis much like virus checking and removal. The more spyware in the
system the less stable the system becomes.
Many providers offer spyware removal utilities some work better then others
some are more destructive then others. Spyware removal utilities are not a
replacement for an anti-virus. These utilities are to be used in conjunction
with anti-virus software.

Free online tools will do a basic check to see if your computer harbors any
viruses, and will advise you on what to do about it. One must be
careful to use only well-known virus checkers (such as the ones listed below),
as some online sites contain either viruses themselves, or convince you to by
software you otherwise do not need.
> Symantec (Norton) Free virus Checker
> Trend Micro Online Virus Checker
> Kaspersky Online Virus Checker
If your system reboots or takes an extremely long time getting from the Splash
Screen to the boot sequence, you may be experiencing memory problems. Memory is
a physical component of your computer. You may need to check to see if your
memory is failing.
